About
I am Greg Conradi Smith: a scientist, professor, reader, and believer.
I make mathematical models of biological systems and teach students to reason carefully about cells, equations, data, and mechanisms. I also read theology, poetry, novels, and intellectual history.
Room for God & Others gathers writing that does not fit neatly inside academic genres: essays, poems, sayings, thoughts, quotations, fragments, and unfinished arguments. The title names the aspiration. I want more room for God, for other people, for difficult questions, and for forms of truth that cannot be reduced to slogans, branding, or institutional procedure.
I write here for myself, not for my employer, church, discipline, or any committee.
A note on AI: the creative writing on this site is 100% mine, not AI-generated. Building the site itself, however, was an exercise in vibe coding. I used AI assistance to design, organize, and revise the web infrastructure while keeping responsibility for the content and editorial choices.
