When God judges Israel, how does he remain faithful and just toward individual people? When the Assyrians conquered Israel, or the Babylonians invaded Judah, many people who were not responsible for systemic injustices suffered tremendous loss.
We wait so long for justice because God lets the wheat and weeds grow together. That answers a different equation: Why do you let evil men prosper?
What I am asking is how God can do the right thing for his faithful people, the remnant, while punishing an entire nation. Jesus speaks of the nursing mothers during the destruction that will inevitably come. What does it mean to say that I am in the palm of Jesus’ hand if, when it comes to larger matters of the nations, I could easily become a civilian casualty?
