Meaninglessness and Finite Fields

I spent two hours reading, thinking, and SageMath-ing about finite fields of order (q=p^n) being vector spaces over (F_p). This was quite fun and helpful. I could say it was for my matroids class, but that is not what made it fun.

What made it fun was that I was working to understand something new. My understanding moved forward. I now know more than I did before. I could explain this to someone if someone wanted.

So it is not that I have no interest in anything. It is not really meaninglessness that is the problem. My thinking about finite fields is as meaningless as anything else. It is just that I need to keep learning.
